Urbino 12

The launch of the new Solaris Urbino starts a new chapter in the company’s history. The aim of engineers was to create a modern and attractive bus, a vehicle that is appealing and comfortable so it will be able not only to encourage passengers to use public transport, but also to make them not want to go back to their cars. The new Solaris Urbino 12 is a completely new engineering design , which provides robust rigidity while being significantly lighter in weight. The vehicle is distinguished by its innovative skin-on-skin assembly technology, spacious interior as well as a unified, expressive design. In addition the new bus is even better and safer to drive and high standards of comfort for passengers are achieved wider and higher doors which improve passenger flows. There is a host of newly developed features that improve all characteristics of the bus, while reliable, tried and tested components of its predecessor have been maintained. An undoubted advantage of the new Solaris is a larger pedestal-free floor area, which has been made possible by positioning the fuel tanks on the front wheel arches. There are up to 16 pedestal-free seats in the 12-metre version. As a result of this solution the floor between the first and the second axle is completely pedestal-free. Another change worth noting is an option on two-door standard buses to move the second door further to the back. Plenty of opportunities for development arise with the new line of vehicles. It is also a guarantee for full competitiveness in a rapidly changing bus and trolleybus market.
