Urbino 18

The launch of the new Solaris Urbino starts a new chapter in the company’s history. The aim of engineers was to create a modern and attractive bus, a vehicle that is appealing and comfortable so it will be able not only to encourage passengers to use public transport, but also to make them not want to go back to their cars. The new Solaris Urbino 18 is a completely new engineering design, which provides robust rigidity while being significantly lighter in weight. The vehicle is distinguished by its innovative skin-on-skin assembly technology, spacious interior as well as a unified, expressive design. In addition the new bus is even better and safer to drive and high standards of comfort for passengers are achieved wider and higher doors which improve passenger flows. There is a host of newly developed features that improve all characteristics of the bus, while reliable, tried and tested components of its predecessor have been maintained. An undoubted advantage of the new Solaris is a larger pedestal-free floor area. There are up to 23 pedestal-free seats in the 18-metre version. Worth mentioning is that the second door has been moved further to the back and the fuel tanks have been positioned over the second axle. This ensures an even better distribution of axle loads.
